The ambition and spirit of accomplishing excellence are unlimited for Dubai, and the announcement of the world's tallest resort soon taking shape in the city proves the point yet again!
At an estimated cost of 2 billion dirhams, the project is designed to become the Middle East’s first-of-its-kind wellbeing resort and interactive park. By joining hands with Therme Group, a worldwide pioneer of inclusive urban wellbeing, this structure is proposed to be completed by 2028 at Zabeel Park.
This massive project aligns with the key objectives of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, a multi-layered goal with the intention to develop, support, and promote a vibrant and healthy lifestyle for all people.
With 2025 declared as the Year of the Community, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, met recently with the key partners associated with the project and approved the development of Therme Dubai.
Sheikh Hamdan was presented with a model of the Therme Dubai project, which spans 500,000 square feet, stands 100 metres tall, and is designed to host up to 1.7 million visitors annually.
Therme Dubai is expected to further solidify Dubai’s medical tourism sector by offering a wide range of health-focused services and promoting the importance of physical and mental wellbeing, as well as attracting visitors seeking holistic wellness experiences.
This project is proposed to be funded by a consortium of local and international financing partners, displaying Dubai's ability to further urban development and support His Highness' vision of making Dubai “the best city to live in”!
Therme Dubai is designed by the renowned global architectural firm DS+R, celebrated for its iconic and unique designs worldwide. The current locations of the Therme Group include Therme Bucharest and the recently acquired Therme Erding, both of which welcome millions of visitors each year. Developments are also underway in cities such as Manchester, Toronto, and Frankfurt.
Therme Dubai will hold three key zones—the Play Zone, a family-friendly area that blends entertainment and health-related activities, the Relax Zone, offering indoor and outdoor relaxation facilities, and the Restore Zone, focusing on rejuvenation and elevating the guest experience to unparalleled levels of comfort.
The resort’s design is centred around integrating nature and water at the heart of the project. It will feature the world’s largest indoor botanical garden, supporting urban biodiversity and sustainable development, as well as feature over 200 plant species from around the globe, paired with clear, warm thermal waters.
