Although the initial construction work began in 2013, multiple delays from time to time caused the construction to be slowed down and paused until it was halted in 2018. Now, they are keen on continuing the work and accomplishing this massive achievement, a massive feat that would earn them the glory of being up in the clouds and the name of being the world's tallest tower.

Eng. Talal Al Maiman, a key stakeholder of the project, said, &ldquo;Today&rsquo;s ceremony represents the realization of a vision that took years in the making. Jeddah Tower will serve as a beacon of innovation and a catalyst for growth, showcasing Saudi Arabia&rsquo;s ambition on the world stage.&rdquo;&nbsp;

Construction on the Jeddah Tower, also known as Burj Jeddah and placed as the centrepiece of the Jeddah Economic City project, is expected to be over only by the first half of 2028.
