Brunch review at The Origins Vida Emirates Hills

 

 

Hidden in the chic Vida Emirates Hills, Origins is the go-to spot for those who cherish fresh, wholesome food in a stylish setting. 

 

From the moment you step into Origins, you're welcomed by a cool poolside vibe that matches the trendy and lively feel of the restaurant. We chose to sit inside to escape the summer heat, but the big windows still gave us an amazing view of the infinity pool and the lush golf course beyond. The area has an "old money" charm, making it a classy yet relaxed place for a weekend brunch.

 

 

The service at Origins is outstanding. From the warm welcome at the entrance to the attentive care during the meal, the staff made us feel at home. They knew a lot about the menu and were happy to make recommendations, ensuring our dining experience was perfect.

 

 

Now, onto the star of the show: the food. Origins’ focus on fresh, farm-to-table ingredients is clear in every dish.

 

Note that the brunch features an extensive buffet with a wide variety of food. However, I chose to focus on the following dishes.

 

I started with the Chilli Garlic Prawns, these were a delightful start. The prawns were perfectly cooked, with a satisfying crunch that gave way to tender, juicy meat. The garlic and chilli provided a strong flavor that was both spicy, aromatic and just enough butter. 

  

 

Now, I’m not a pizza person but the earthy Truffle and Mushrooms Pizza paired wonderfully with the crispy, thin crust. Each slice was generously topped with greens. If you’re a truffle fan, I highly recommend this one to start. 

  

The main, Ribeye Steak was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful char on the outside and a tender, juicy center. The seasoning was just right, enhancing the meat’s natural flavors without overpowering them, I didn’t feel the need to add more salt or pepper on my steak. 

 

  

To finish the meal, the Strawberry Tart was a rich delight. Not too sweet, the crumbs mixed with nuts gave it an interesting texture and the tartness from the strawberry cuts the creaminess from the tart just right.  It was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic brunch.

 

The brunch also featured a wide selection of cocktails and mocktails. As a non-drinker, the staff prepared a lovely mocktail for me infused with passion fruit and mango. It was zesty, and a refreshing end to a meal. 

 

 

The overall experience? Whether you want to relax by the pool or enjoy a sophisticated meal with friends and family, Origins provides the perfect venue for that setting. The combination of stunning views, delicious food, and top-notch service makes it a must-visit spot in Dubai.
