Getting dolled up and heading out to your favourite ladies night in Dubai is always something spectacular to look forward to. Once we heard the legendary Japanese restaurant in Dubai, Gonpachi, launch a ladies Monday night special, we put on our heels and checked it out without hesitation.
Upon arrival to Gonpachi Dubai, we were greeted by the stunning fairy lights above Habtoor Boulevard shortly before the music started getting louder at the venue. The gorgeous restaurant in Dubai encapsulated Japanese energy perfectly. Dim, intimate, the rich fragrance of Japanese cuisine coming alive, Gonpachi Dubai's wide dining room was adorned in wood, warm tones and rich history. Scanning the room, a well dressed and fashionable brigade of 30-somethings can be found seated at Gonpachi dancing to old school classics, sipping drinks and puffing on cigars. Classy? We definitely think so.
Keeping in mind that the 3-course menu at this ladies night in Dubai changes every week, we were prepared to surprise ourselves. When we were seated at the lounge by the bar, Arnold and Oleg our hosts approached us with the hospitability that we are all familiar with at Gonpachi Dubai. Being the cocktail lovers that we are, we opted for the signature Joshi Kai drinks: The Ichigo and The Tokudetsu, a gin and vodka infused drink blissfully mixed with fruity flavours that tasted as great as it looked.
We wasted no time diving headfirst into our 3-course menu. The star of the starters was the gorgeously presented Seabass Ceviche, pair that with the scrumptious mushroom Kinoko Salad and you have an opener to the Joshi Kai Ladies Night you will never forget. Sip the Tokudetsu cocktail with style as your main course makes your way to the table, an amazing plate of sushi as well as a selection of Sumiyaki Charcoal Grill drizzled in a sauce that will leave you craving more from Gonpachi Dubai!
Though the portion size was a tad bit too small, the flavour and quality triumphs. Dessert fanatics can dig their teeth into a fruity frozen dessert drenched in Rasberry sauce and cream, the unique flavour and presentation will leave your senses stunned. We suggest wasting no time starting the dessert as you do not want the cream to melt.
