NYE 21 IN DUBAI: HELPFUL GUIDE ABOUT ROAD CLOSURES & METRO TIMINGS

With the stunning New Years Eve 2021 fireworks in Dubai and the many other celebrations in the city, Dubai is buzzing with excitement. 

Here are some helpful tips to remember when navigating New Years Eve 2021 in Dubai.

If you are set to witness the Burj Khalifa fireworks spectacle in Downtown Dubai, it is suggested to get there by 4pm.




ROAD CLOSURES

All roads heading towards the Burj Khalifa, the worlds tallest building in Dubai, will be closed to provide easy traffic and allow pedestrians to move without heavy traffic on the roads on Dubai's New Years Eve.

Here is a list of roads that will be closed for New Years Eve 2021 in Dubai:

1) Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard Dubai, the road around the Burj Khalifa Dubai will unfortunately be closed on New Years Eve 2021. The area will be used as a public viewing area to watch the stunning fireworks in Dubai! 

2) Al Asayel Road Dubai, which runs side by side to the Sheikh Zayed Road Dubai will be closed for New Years Eve 2021. Al Asayel Road will be closed from Oud Street to Al Meydan Street from 4pm on December 31st 2021. Al Asayel Road Dubai will only be open for public transportation and emergency vehicles on New Years Eve 2021 in Dubai.

3) The Financial Centre Road in Dubai will be closed from 4pm on New Years Eve 2021 in Dubai. 

4) Al Sukook Street Dubai, the road which circles around Dubai Financial Centre will be blocked at 8pm sharp on New Years Eve 2021 in Dubai. 

5) The Future Street Dubai will be closed at the crossing between Business Bay street Dubai and Financial Centre Street Dubai in phases from 6 - 8pm on New Years Eve 2021 Dubai.




DUBAI METRO

The Dubai Metro will be running from 5am on December 31st 2020 to 1am on January 2nd 2021. On December 31st 2020, the red line will start being operational at 5am and the 5:30am with the green line.  

All Dubai Metro Stations will be open and operational except the Burj Khalifa Metro Station. The Burj Khalifa metro station will be closed from 5pm December 31st to 6am on Jnauary 1st 2021.




DUBAI TRAM

The Dubai Tram will be open and operational from 6am on December 31st 2020 to January 2nd 2021.




MARINE TRANSPORT

The RTA (Roads & Transport Authority) will be running a special marine transport service on ferries and abras in Dubai on New Years Eve 2021. Starting from 9:30pm on December 31st, which will be helpful to beat the traffic on Dubai's New Years Eve 2021.





SOME HELPFUL TIPS FOR NYE 21 IN DUBAI
