Business Bay Towers
Business Bay is set to sprout a new flagship icon with the birth of Business Bay Towers. These twin structures will loom 365 metres over Sheikh Zayed Road at the entrance of the district, close to Business Bay metro station. And what will the towers be used for, you ask? Yep, you guessed it one is a five-star hotel plus serviced apartments, the second 471 more homes each with access to a rooftop running track, amphitheatre and tennis court. Construction starts early next year.
Dubai Water Canal
Dubais landmass has already been extended out into the sea with three Palm developments and The World Islands but now things are being reversed with the Dubai Water Canal, which will flow from the coastline 3km inland towards Business Bay, spreading between 80 and 120 metres in width. But its more than just a pretty waterway, with the parallel creation of more than 80,000 sq m of public places and facilities. The new news is that at the niftily-named Gateway of the Canal thats the drivers exit from Sheikh Zayed Road, not the mouth on the coast, naturally will stand (another nifty name here) The Tower, a development of 900-plus homes, 600-plus hotel rooms, 735 sq m of offices and 400,000 sq ft of shops. Meanwhile Safa park will be upgraded to include a public beach yes, thats right, by bringing a flow of water inland, a 1.5 km beach will be created in the middle of an inland urban area. Theres also a new running and cycling tracks planned, 1,600 new homes, and a 460,000 sq ft boardwalk of shops and resatauants.
Entisar Tower
Set to tower over Sheikh Zayed Road is Meydans new Entisar Tower, an integrated vertical community stretching more than 100 stories into the sky. The mixed use tower will be the only freehold building of its kind on Sheikh Zayed Road. As well as homes, the tower will feature four floors of shops and a hotel.
The Boardwalk at Palm Jumeirah
The 11km crescent that protects Palm Jumeirah from the ocean is to be transformed into a pedestrian destination for walking, shopping and dining. The Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk will run the entire length of the crescent, with a pier stretching 100 metres into the Arabian Gulf at either end. Tourist-tastic.
The Dubai Twin Towers
The Dubai Twin Towers is a huge and iconic tower that will act as a flagship for The Lagoons. The towers will include a central business district, a youth entrepreneurial zone, cultural amenities, residences, premium and affordable luxury hotels and, of course, a waterfront shopping mall.
West Beach Development, Palm Jumeirah
The West Beach at Palm Jumeirah will stretch for 1.5 km along the Palms western trunk, providing another new destination for Palm types. It will include a shaded park and promenade, and childrens play areas. There will also be an exclusive high-end beach club plus 14 waterfront restaurants, outdoor seating deck and a party terrace. West Beach will also have parking for around 340 cars and nine buses
Falconcity of Wonders Pyramid Park
Falconcity of Wonders, the multi-purpose mega project being developed across Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, has announced the creation of three towering pyramids. Together they will make up Pyramid Park, which its said will emulate the Egyptian architectural wonder in a modern day context. Meanwhile, Falconcity of Wonders has completed the western residence south that caters to 342 families. A total of 366 villas are completed on the first phase, while 227 new villas are currently under construction.
The Trump Estates
The name says it all really its a new ber-exclusive collection of more than 100 luxury mansions, from the man himself, Donald Trump. It will be located at the heart of Akoya, Damacs 28 million sq ft master development currently being built off Umm Sequim Road. And in typically affluent fashion, the mansions will overlook the forthcoming Trump International Golf Club, the first Trump-branded course in the Middle East.
The Lagoons retail strips
The Lagoons are said to be inspired by the historic centre of Dubai Creek, and recalling that bustling location, the waterside will be lined with scores of shops and restaurants. When finished, the project will stretch from the banks of the Dubai Creek, through central parcels of land linked to Al Khail Road and across Ras Al Khor.
Diamond Business Park
Another architectural marvel revealed at Cityscape was this picture of Diamond Business Park, a new 140,000sqm complex of space-age looking buildings coming to Meydan, including 600 apartments.
Entisar Tower now on sale
Revealed at last years Cityscape, Meydan put 444 serviced apartments for sale in their new forthcoming flagship tower at this years event. The serviced apartments, ranging from one to three bedrooms, cover a total area of 66,300 sq m across 37 floors of the 100-plus storey building, set to be one of the tallest in Dubai.
The Polo Residence
A new ultra luxury gated estate is set to be built near Downtown by 2015. The Dhs2.1 billion development will stand out from the crowd by doing precisely the opposite, with 29 building of not more than four residential floors, spread over 1.5 million sq ft at Meydan. A total of 60 percent of the development will be reserved for green areas, literally bringing life to the desert.
Green eco-focus at The Lagoons
In a welcome shift from the ethos of many Dubai developments, its been revealed The Lagoons will boast an eco-friendly green theme, and will include eco-resorts, water features, and gardens.
Meanwhile in Qatar...
New detailed plans were revealed at Dubais Cityscape for the ongoing development of The Pearl-Qatar, a four million sq m island, which will house more than 45,000 residents and boast 32 km of coastline by 2015.
