It’s set to be a big day in the world of horseracing – and we’re bringing you everything you need to know about this historic event.
When and where: Happening on the 30th of March at the Meydan Racecourse, gates will be opening at noon with the first race kicking off at 3:45pm – there are nine top-notch races scheduled for this year’s event. The World Cup itself will be taking place at 8:50pm. So, if you’re looking to catch the best spot at the venue, we’d definitely recommend getting there early.
What to wear: While the dress code for the event is smart-casual, don't be afraid to get too creative with your hat – the bigger, the better. We’ve seen it all, from Burj Al Arab replicas to the actual World Cup head pieces, it helps to know that there will be big prizes for the best dressed at the races. So, the effort will definitely pay off! If you’re too confused about to wear, simply look at the royal wedding for inspiration.
Who’s performing: Award-winning pop artist Gwen Stefani will be taking center stage at the Apron Views from 9:30pm onwards. While not the singer’s first performance in the city, we’re still excited to watch this legend drop all her hits on Saturday night. If you’ve already bought your ticket to the races, you don’t have to worry about buying an extra one for the gig – the concert is open to all ticket-holders.
