Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 1st�June 2014: The award-winning nightclub�People by Crystal, readies itself to host The Weeknd for the first time in the UAE.

The Grammy nominated artist/producer kicks off his Middle East tour in Beirut on of June, before making two appearances in the UAE on the 5th the 4th June at People by Crystal in Dubai and Abu Dhabi respectively. 
The Weeknd will be the first artist to take to the stage at Abu Dhabi�s latest nightlife hotspot, People by Crystal Abu Dhabi, which opened on June 15th.

The ultra chic venue offers the most technologically advanced lighting & high definition sound. The Abu Dhabi branch of People aims to emulate the success of it�s sister venue in Dubai, attracting the hottest stars and the most glamorous acts, and what better way to kick it off than a performance by one of RnB�s rising stars. 
The Weeknd first rose to prominence in 2011 when he released three mixtapes, which garnered critical acclaim. The mixtapes quickly caught traction on the Internet, with fellow Canadian Drake posting them on his blog, making The Weeknd an almost overnight success.

The artist is known for his covers of popular songs such as Michael Jackson�s Dirty Diana as well as Beyonce�s latest hit Drunk in Love. 
�His willingness to respond to cover crowd favorites as well as fuse different genres of music such as blues, punk and alternative rock into his distinct form of RnB makes The Weeknd an extremely popular choice among a younger generation of RnB fans . 
His first single Wicked Games was nominated for several awards and won an award at the MTV O Music Awards. The Weeknd�s collaboration with rapper Wiz Khalifa saw him nominated for a Grammy in 2014 for their hit Remember You. 
The Weeknd has an ever-growing following of fans in the United Arab Emirates who have been anticipating his first performance ever since he broke into the scene in 2011. 
The Weeknd will be performing at People by Crystal Dubai on the 5th & People by Crystal Abu Dhabi on the 6th
