Playa Nomade at Rixos, The Palm have really been pulling out all the stops with their bookings since they took over from El Chiringuito a few months back and their party on Friday, November 30ththey have enlisted the talents of one of the most in demand collectives of the moment – Apollonia.
So, named after the Greek god of music, the French trio have transcended to almost god like status when it comes to their particular brand of rolling tech house. Singularly, Shonky, Dyed Soundorom and Dan Ghenacia have always been at the fore front of this genre but their banding together has elevated them much higher than the sum of their parts.
Having played starring roles at DC-10 and Cocoon in Ibiza, fabric, BPM festival, in fact everywhere they go this year they have stolen the show. The threesome of talented producers and deft selectors always play b2b2b and this is the beauty of their performances as it is clear above all else that they are having a great time and that easily transfers over to the crowd which they have eating out of the palm of their hands from the first to the last beat. The only thing that is deeper than their record bags is their love for the music they are playing.
As if an extended set from Apollonia wasn’t enough, also on the bill is Dutchman Steve Rachmad Aka Sterac. Often linked indelibly with Detroit techno, Steve is as experienced and well-travelled an artist as you could wish for and the fact that he will also be part of this monstrous line-up is just another reason why you need to be a part of possibly the party of the season. Warm up duties this week will fall to Kaytek and Nasrawi, who will kick off the party at 4pm.
