The much-anticipated Almayass by the Sea, a beloved dining destination, opened its doors at J1, Dubai’s newest luxury beach destination. This exciting addition brings a fresh take on cherished Lebanese-Armenian culinary traditions, blending authentic flavours with a relaxed coastal ambiance. 

 

Rooted in centuries-old culinary heritage, Almayass by the Sea reflects its Armenian roots and a commitment to sharing home recipes. The warm and inviting space captures the essence of a serene seaside escape while honouring the delightful charm that Almayass is renowned for. 

 

 

 

 

Guided by the culinary expertise of Chef Mardiros Barsoum, Almayass by the Sea offers a memorable journey through Lebanese and Armenian cuisines. The mezze-style menu is crafted for sharing with loved ones, featuring fresh, bold flavours that perfectly complement the seafront setting.

 

Highlights include Almayass specialties like Stuffed Eggplant with Yogurt and Kebbeh Nayeh with Armenian chilli paste, alongside Armenian favourites like Mante and Souburek. The new seafood offerings unique to Almayass by the Sea, including Shrimp Almayass and Grilled Octopus, are made with the freshest local catches, which guests can choose directly from the restaurant’s fresh fish display.

 

 

 

 

To ensure an authentic taste experience, Almayass by the Sea uses specially sourced ingredients from Lebanon and Armenia, such as sour cherry sauce, Armenian pepper paste, Basterma, and various unique spices.

 

These are combined with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients to create dishes that are both filled with flavour and comforting generosity.

The restaurant's vibrant design, inspired by the pomegranate, a symbol of fertility and good fortune in Armenian culture, adds a cultural touch to its welcoming setting.
