Shanghai just added another "biggest" on its list...we're talking about their new "largest indoor Ski Resort" now open in Lingang! We all know another city decorated with the -est of almost everything and Dubai holds the rank for "best"! Awarded by Ski World Awards, Dubai went on a record-breaking streak retaining its title for "World's Best Indoor Ski Resort" for 7 consecutive years. How will Linglang's L*SNOW resort fare in comparison?
Located in Shanghai's Pudong district, the L*SNOW Indoor Skiing Theme Resort was certified by Guinness World Records as the world's largest on its opening day on Friday, September the 6th. It overtakes another Chinese facility in northern Harbin.
The L*SNOW Shanghai resort has three main areas: a water park, a ski area with slopes for all levels, and a snow play area offering various activities.
Highlights include the Snowland Train, Clock Tower Drop, and an ice cave. The water park has both indoor and outdoor sections.
Want to slope your way into the resort straight from your hotel room? The hotels, Shanghai Snow World Hotel and Crown Plaza, are offering ski-in access directly from rooms.
Located in Lingang, near Pudong airport, about 1.5 hours from Downtown Shanghai, the resort is already welcoming guests from all around, granted that ticketing and lines can be a hassle, starting from the soft opening weekend.
Three-quarters of the building's roof is covered with solar photovoltaic panels to help power it.
Let's check out the Skiing experience itself: the skiing area features three slopes, catering to beginners, intermediate, and advanced skiers with French brand Rossignol as the exclusive equipment provider.
Equipment rental, including skis, snowboards, and helmets, is all included in the entrance fee, minus the gloves which are not provided.
While this is a global attraction that is certain to drive ski-lovers and adventures seekers worldwide into its premises, the stakes are on to see whether "largest" will equally match the "best".
The Ski Dubai Resort, located inside Dubai Mall of the Emirates, is the world's third largest indoor ski slope and the first to open in the Middle East, 4th in the list of 2023's most popular winter ski resorts worldwide & holder of "World's Best Indoor Ski Resort" for 7 consecutive years.
Ski Dubai offers a variety of activities & gives you a chance to ski, snowboard, meet the penguins, zip line or take a chairlift ride. It is larger than just a resort when it comes to the wholesome experience.
Snow Penguins at Ski Dubai are dedicated to teaching youngsters and adults about the nature of this remarkable colony of Gentoo and King Penguins through engaging and interactive programmes.
