Billie Elish is officially the new queen of Spotify, dethroning The Weeknd for top spot, with the most monthly listeners ever recorded on the platform! Securing over 105 million listeners, Billie took to Instagram saying "number 1 in the world on spotify i really can’t even believe this. i love you all so much this is the craziest thing ever.” Unsurprising as back in June she became the youngest artist ever to surpass 100 million monthly listeners.

 

 

 

 

The Weeknd showed his support for the young and rising star last week, when she was nearing his record. “Let’s go !” he wrote on X, retweeting a post noting that, on August 15, she was less than 1 million listeners away from becoming Spotify’s most streamed artist.

 

 

 

 

Billie Eilish is an American singer and songwriter who first gained poopularity in 2018 with her single "Ocean Eyes", later she topped the Billboard top 200 with her album "When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" carried by the track "Bad Guy" which was also ranked number 1 in Billboard's Hot 100, making her the first 21st Century born artist to create a chart-topping single!
