UAE to host world's largest space research event: Cospar 2028

UAE, a nation ranking number 1 in many industries, strikes once again with a new first- and maybe a quite unexpected one, then again is there really anything impossible to happen within Dubai and the United Emirates? Establishing itself as a key hub for scientific research, UAE becomes the first Arab country to host the world's largest space-focused research event: Cospar 2028.

During the weekend the announcement was made by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed further elaborated: "Set to be held for the first time in the Arab world, the event will bring together more than 3,000 researchers, experts, and scientists to present and discuss groundbreaking scientific research."

This has further enhanced the UAE nation’s role in administering a massive global contribution and cooperation in the space sector.

It was also earlier in the month of July that Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, met with Nora Al Matrooshi, the first Emirati woman to be selected as an astronaut.

Along with her colleague Mohammed Al Mulla, they both had just completed an intensive two-year astronaut training programme with Nasa, which made them qualified for space flight- they are set for a new space mission launching in October 2024, followung in the footsteps of Hazza Al Mansouri, the UAE's first man in space, and Dr Sultan Al Neyadi, who returned from his six-month mission on board the International Space Station in September.

UAE's giant leaps are revolutionary and groundbreaking for humanity.
