Thiptara: an enchanting Thai-dining experience at the Palace Downtown

You've walked into The Palace in Downtown and you head one floor down into a mesmerizing temple floating above the lake where views of the Dubai Fountains and Burj Khalifa envelop before your eyes within the cozy, zen corners of this serene oasis. Welcome to the Thiptara experience, oh my Thai, that was a dining journey to savor and repeat!

Ready to dive into the best Bangkok-style seafood lunch set in Downtown Dubai. Let's do this!

Thiptara's Menus, Negroni & Gin Thai Basil

Before we get to the views & the food, let's talk about the magic you feel as you enter the standalone building of Thiptara, which by the way translates to "magic at the water".

Royalty is served as you indulge in the romantic ambiance, high ceilings and intricate dark wood carvings beautifully juxtaposing the contemporary furniture, statues and lush greeneries. This is what our eyes have seen at first glimpse:

We kept walking towards the outdoor, glass-covered, cool-aired dining area where we were immediately taken by the fountain views and Burj Khalifa serving as a beautiful backfrop.

We felt like we are floating above water, transported to a parallel universe of tranquility, trance-like music that set the atmosphere just right and a feast of eye-catching views that worked up our appetite; we were so ready to order! POV:

And now...the culinary centerpiece: our lunch. Stretching from 12:30PM till 3:30PM daily for lunchtime, Thiptara closes and reopens again at 6PM till 11:30PM for dinnertime. We indulged in a nice Sunday escape into spectacular Asian flavors and authentic Thai dishes.

Ever tried a Gin Thai Basil? With an Elderflower twist to the classic cocktail, our taste buds were mesmerized. We kickstarted with carefully-crafted signature cocktails and classics, we savored the Negroni and Punching Buddha, a Bourbon-based cocktail fuming Angostura bitter, Peach Syrup, Triple Sec & Lemon Juice- mouthwatering combinations.

Thiptara's YAM SOM-O, POH PIAH, SATE & Cocktails

The Tiger Prawns were ferociously sumptuous in the Pomelo Salad, matching the heavenly-marinated Prawns Satay, and the delectable crunch of the Shrimp Rolls.

From condiments to spices, every detail was distinctively tasted and enjoyed in every bite. The portions are fulfilling and generous and so is the friendliness and hospitality of the Thiptara team, who ensured a seamless and beautifully comfortable service. If you're into rich flavors, you will enjoy this. The spices can also be moderated to the level of midlness or hotness you're comfortable with.

Thiptara's GOONG PHAD & PLA NEUNG

We had to leave space for the mains although are palates were satisfyingly popping from the exquisite entrées.

Chili jam, oyster & soya sauce lusciously coated the Stir Fried Tiger Prawns, harmoniously paired with the Thai Steamed Fish.

A whole line caught seabass stuffed with lime and garlic, chili and special fish sauce- captivating. We went for plain steamed Jasmine rice to leave room for that festival of flavors to take place. And of course, we had to finish off on a sweet, Thai-traditional note. We had for dessert the Thai Ripe Yellow Mango with Sweet Sticky Rice with Coconut Cream as well as a selection of Lemon Mango Sorbet. What a refreshing finale to finish off the culinary marvel!
