Shiny disco balls, led-lit rollerblades, party favors, funky beats, a fresh Sushi bar & an exquisite food/beverages menu are the headlines of OKKU Dubai's newly-launched Disco Saturday Brunch!
Saturdays are notorious Brunch-days in Dubai and ours was completely redefined as we headed to the Palm Jumeirah's Marriott Resort to experience OKKU's highly-acclaimed brunch event. Spanning from 1PM till 4:30PM, every moment from reception to see you next time was filled with flavors, sounds and laughs that left us in awe. The friendliness of reception as they welcome you with a selection of resfreshing drinks before you step into OKKU and onto your table is an immediate sign of a good day ahead!
This is definitely the place to put your colorful sequin on, as most people did, to shine in the dim-lit lustrous ambiance of OKKU Dubai, under the disco-balls ornamented ceiling and of course, to match this signature Saturday brunch theme. OKKU's gorgeous dancers came out to electrify the party with retro-inspired flashy outfits and dance moves that would get you on your feet in a second! We felt iconic Saturday Night Fever vibes in Dubai.
Now that we basked in the disco-vibe, had a drink or two as we settled down, let's talk about the centerpiece of OKKU Dubai - the food! The brunch menu starts off with a fresh open-buffet Sushi bar that generously served Fresh Dibba Bay Oysters, Ceviche with Tapioca Chips, a selection of Nigiri, Sashimi and Maki.
As well as a selection of OKKU’s favourite Kushiyaki Skewers. Beware getting full from the "keeps you going back for more" rounds of these incredibly delicious bites, because this is just the warm-up! Seriously, don't fall for it; leave space for what's coming - and thank us later!
With our bellies happy and spirits elevated, we were served to the table a culinary masterpiece of entrées and main dishes that make every bite a taste from heaven, starting with the Chef’s Selection of Seasonal Salad, Wasabi Tiger Shrimp, Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice, Chicken Karaage & Wagyu Gyoza. It keeps getting better, richer, and more delicious as we go. We tried the Wagyu Steak, Miso Salmon Teriyaki and Yuzu-Saikyo Miso Black Cod with Unagi Rice on the side.
This Summer brunch quenches your thirst with an extensive selection of spirits and drinks packaged to your liking; from House Beverages to Cocktails & Champagne - there was non-stop pouring with rounds of various kinds of shots being cheerfully passed around the tables! The hype was strong and everyone was eating, drinking and dancing like multitasking brunch masters. OKKU are setting the standards pretty high in terms of brunching in Dubai. Our Saturday kept getting better and better.
And no our lovely disco-brunchers, we did not forget about dessert for we have tasted some of the most exquisite melt-in-your-mouth intense Chocolate Mousse you can ever have in Dubai! No jokes, hats off to this easy-on-the-eye colorful desserts platter served with Sake Jelly and velvety Miso Ice Cream which also included the Raspberry & Lychee Crémeux with Rose Macaroon & Lychee Sorbet. Simply...yummy.
