Teyana Taylor is showing those nosy gossip mongers the exit from the group chat, as she puts the brakes on the wild tales about her romance with basketball player Iman Shumpert, which went from zero to chaos in record time.
The "Coming 2 America" star dropped a truth bomb on Sunday, letting everyone know that she and the Brooklyn Nets guard have been living their best lives for a hot minute. All this drama about Shumpert's alleged infidelity had been hogging the spotlight, overshadowing their glorious seven-year marriage. She's not here for gossip, folks!

Hold up! “AHT AHT! Not too much on my bestie!” The R&B sensation and dance maestro threw shade on Instagram over the weekend, posting a pic of herself and Shumpert dressed up as "Wayne's World" Wayne and Garth.
“In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while,” she continued. “To be 1000% clear, ‘infidelity’ ain’t one of the reasons for our departure. We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children. Most importantly we are FAMILY & in the 10 years together, 7 years married we ain’t ever played with or about THAT.”
Taylor, at the youthful age of 32, spilt the tea that she and Shumpert, 33, are masters of the breakup game. They're keeping things on the down-low, no fanfare, no drama – just the way they like it, darling
“We just keep y’all asses out the group chat lol, which is the reason we’ve been able to successfully & peacefully separate without all of the outside noise,” she added. “The only reason I’m even sharing THIS part of the chat is because the narratives are getting a little out of hand & it’s unfair to all parties involved. The "White Men Can't Jump" star caused quite the stir when she dropped the engagement bomb at her baby shower back in November 2015, while sporting a baby bump with their first kiddo, the now 7-year-old Iman "Junie" Tayla.
They took the plunge in October 2016, and just to add some extra spice to the mix, they welcomed their second bundle of joy, little miss Rue Rose, in September 2020, all in the comfort of their bathroom with Shumpert playing midwife.
Fast forward to June, and Taylor set tongues wagging with a birthday shoutout to Shumpert on Instagram, “Your birthday will always be one of my favourite days.”
“Because on this day 33 years ago a super dope human being was born,” she wrote. “My best friend, my husband, my children’s dad, my other half. Crazy how your bday feels like my day cause you a gift. One of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received.”
