In the region, the opening of the Wynn Resorts on Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah has generated significant buzz, as the 1,500-room resort with an attached casino is set to welcome guests in early 2027.

The resort, which will be the brand's first property in the Middle East, was first announced in January 2022. With a price tag in the billions, the resort will be the brand's first beachfront property and will soar 305 meters above the Arabian Gulf, offering breathtaking ocean views.

The resort's serene and stylish interiors will be inspired by the surrounding sea and will include a variety of accommodations, ranging from rooms and suites to villas. High-end shopping, a top-of-the-line events facility, a luxurious spa, 24 dining and lounge options, and a plethora of entertainment choices will also be available to guests.

Wynn Al Marjan Island is set to offer the UAE's first-ever casino as part of its entertainment offerings, according to Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts, who confirmed the news during an earnings call in September 2022. The casino component is expected to be larger than that of Wynn Las Vegas, and further details are anticipated to be released later this year.

The resort will also feature a theatre hosting unique productions and daily light and laser shows. Construction work has already commenced for the resort, which is estimated to cost an astounding USD 3.9 billion (AED 14.32 billion) and is scheduled to open in 2027.

Despite Marjan Island already being home to several resorts, including properties from Movenpick, Radisson, Hilton (with both DoubleTree and Hampton by Hilton), and Rixos, more developments are on the horizon. A budget-friendly Rove hotel with 441 rooms will open in 2024, offering guests wallet-friendly stays at a beachfront address.

Additionally, the renowned luxury hospitality brand, Nobu Hotels, will establish an upscale hotel, branded residences, and a signature Nobu restaurant on Marjan Island, though an opening date has yet to be announced.
