ALCOHOL TAX CUT BY 30 PERCENT, WILL CONSUMERS BENEFIT IMMEDIATELY?

ALCOHOL TAX CUT BY 30 PERCENT, WILL CONSUMERS BENEFIT IMMEDIATELY?

Cheers to the new year.

The 30% municipality fee on alcoholic drinks has been removed in-store. Does this mean that all alcohol consumers will benefit? Not quite yet... Due to previous stock purchases in the hospitality industry, the price shift in bars & restaurants will occur over the next few months for the entire industry to become aligned.

The alcohol license fee in Dubai has now been slashed by 2 of the city's well-known alcohol shops from the 1st of January 2023.

African + Eastern has removed the 30 per cent municipality tax on all alcoholic drinks across its Dubai branches along with reduced prices. MMI (Maritime & Mercantile International) has also implemented the 30 per cent cut. The alcohol stores in Dubai allow buyers to apply for a license in-store!

Taking into consideration the hefty prices on drinks previously, the new vision regarding alcohol licenses in Dubai has been brought about to make the city a more convenient and affordable spot to visit in the new year.  All you have to keep in mind is that the person has to be at least 21 years of age and non-Muslim. Consuming alcohol in Dubai can only be done within a licensed public place or privately.
