REVIEW: A NIGHT AT MOE'S ON THE 5TH DUBAI

With a skip to our step and the cool air of Sheikh Zayed Road in our lungs, we valeted the car and made it to the 5th floor of the Sheraton Grand.

Usually, when we walk into a venue for a #DubaiNightReview, we know what to expect from the night. But Moe's On The 5th was different.

Starting with an Aperol Spritz and a glass of wine, the 30 somethings around us were laid back and in the middle of some post-work goss’, with legs crossed and bathed under dim, intimate lights. The predominantly female crowd were embraced by walls of vibrant 'street-style' graffiti of beautiful expressionist paintings. The bartenders had a 360-degree view of the crowd and the DJ pumped out mellow house beats post at 10 PM. The vibe at Moe's was upbeat yet relaxed.

The Beef Carpaccio was a clear winner in the starter category. Burger fans can opt for the Short Rib sliders that were succulent as ever. Not into red meat? No worries, friends. Get your hands ready to graze on Cordon Bleu Bites.

If you have an itch for that perfect seafood dish, grab the two best selling and the most loved main courses at Moe’s; the Seafood Risotto and the Sea Bass Fillet. Beautifully presented in deep rimmed dishes, the richness of the risotto blended almost effortlessly with the shrimp, fresh and warm, this dish won our hearts almost instantly.

We soon realised that the love we have for MOE'S comes from the one thing that connects us all: Music. The house beats from DJ Mario Bazouri echoed the walls, the smooth tunes gave us no option but to groove to the beat, standing up or sitting down.

As the night progressed, the crowd rushed in. The tempo was preached by Caleesi, a Berlin-based DJ that pumped up the crowd with her synergic beats and vibes that made us dance into the late hours. Our hands and hearts were in the air as the crowd moved as one to the transitions made by Caleesi. Truly a night to remember.

The night at Moe’s ended on a sweet note. Literally. After our rave-like experience by the DJ booth at the bar, we munched on Moe’s signature Churros and indulged in a Warm Chocolate Tart with Añejo tequila ice cream. The music was the epicentre of this Mediterranean resto-bar in Dubai. It is what we came for (and the Seafood Risotto).

All we have to say is this:

Getting hungry on the drive home? Moe’s.

In the mood for dancing to transcending house music inches away from the DJ booth? Moe’s.

Looking for a Seafood Risotto to blow your mind? Moe’s.

Star dishes: Beef Carpaccio, Seafood Risotto *drools*, the warm tart with tequila ice cream

Attire: Comfortable chic (At Moe’s, dancing is a must)
