Park right up the Andaz Residences at the Palm and get ready to sink your senses into Dubai's newest beach club: La Coco Beach Club... where the California Coast meets the Mexican Riviera!
Interior.
Greeted with a shower of neon pink lights, your night is about to begin. Gazing at the ultra cool neo-industrial ceiling elements, we imagined the venue would look just as fabulous in the daytime considering we were seated by the gorgeous infinity pool!
Reminiscent of California, La Coco Dubai was aesthetically futuristic which paired well with the scenic view of the city's skyline. Snap your instagrammable shot for the 'gram at the cheeky swing at the entrance with the illuminated neon Cali style sign: LA COCO. A statement has been made.
The high rise tables adorned with neon blue lamps (a good contrast to the neon pink) are made of waterproof wood paired with white and grey cushions.
Music.
We swayed to lounge House/dance beats from the last decade that kept the middle aged crowd engaged and nostalgic. We inspected the menu in question. La Coco Beach Club Dubai offers up an array of Californian and Mexican influences.
Beachside cocktails.
La Coco Beach Club Dubai is the spot for you! Opt for the Marina perfect beach drink with elderflower soda with strawberry infused Aperol. Go for the Santa Barbara, an instagrammable cocktail with the signature La Coco sign etched on an orange peel, designed to tantalise your senses with its gin, yuzu tonic, citrus and floral notes. Opt for the Cocktail holiday for a softer, elegant drink with the perfect balance of sourness and cranberry.
Custom cocktails
As far as service staff go, La Coco was positive to say the least. The bar manager enquired about our love for gin and aged scotch whiskey and expertly mixed a drink right infront us, custom naming the drink 'Gin fresa sour'. The friendly and attentive staff and managers were a major plus point at La Coco.
Dining.
We nodded in anticipation for our highly recommended grilled peppers and chips & guac which were made tableside with immaculate presentation.
The perfectly cooked Char Grilled Octopus paired with a sumptutuous potato puree and salami flavours was the dish that won our hearts at La Coco. Not a meat eater?
Vegans in Dubai can opt for La Coco's varied salads such as the L.A Diet Quinoa Bowl. The Salmon Tiradito in passionfruit citrus sauce was light, refreshing and delicately put together. The show-stopping and rich Half Lobster Pasta was a sight for sore eyes for seafood lovers in Dubai!
The Mexican influences at La Coco shined through with the Baja Fish Tacos, taste the tender avacado with the spicy mayo for a smooth culinary journey.
Desserts.
The desserts at La Coco Dubai are made to win you over. The dessert tray tingled our sweet tooths at the sight of cut fruit and a Yoghurt and Passion Fruit Pavlova beautifully served on a rose gold cocktail glass. Chic? We think so. Opt for the Dessert Rose for a rush of sweetness soaked in rose milk silkiness.
Final thoughts.
La Coco Dubai shows high potential as far as beach clubs in Dubai go. They clearly push the boundaries when it comes to interior vibes, the innovation and composition of the food and drinks left a notable impression. The spend at La Coco Dubai was worth every penny.
